Tivoli Monitoring Agent Install for AIX

 

1. cd to /opt directory
2. execute the following command, mkdir –p /etc/tivoli/lcf
3. open an ftp session to mxdnim
4. cd to the /export/cdimages/TMA directory
5. get TEC.tar
6. close ftp session
7. execute the following command, tar –xvf TEC.tar
8. cd /opt/tivoli/lcf/dat/1
9. edit the last.cfg file and make sure that it looks like the following (pay close attention to the last three lines which are highlighted):

10. execute the following command:

 

ln –s /opt/tivoli/lcf  /etc/tivoli/lcf

 

11. execute the command /opt/tivoli/lcf/dat/1/lcfd.sh
12. execute the following command (do not forget the double quotes):

 

mkitab “tma:2:once:/opt/tivoli/lcf/dat/1/lcfd.sh > /dev/console 2>&1”

13. Open you web browser and enter in the following address:

 

http://hostname:9495

 

14. The status line should read as follows:

 

Version : 103
Interp : aix4-r1
Endpoint Label : hostname
Hostname : hostname
NIC Address : hostname.tu.com (146.61.68.76+9495)
Gateway Address : mxfmtxtiv03.tu.com (146.61.220.107+9494)
Status : running

          Make sure the Status line says running. 

 

15. If the Status line does not say running after approximately one minute, contact Clark Carradine at 214-875-2443
