WLM Purpose

  • WLM is designed to allow the system administrator to limit the amount of CPU, Memory, and Disk I/O that can be consumed by a process or set of processes.
  • Limitations may be imposed upon processes based on:
  • Class
  • Subclass
  • Process owner (real)
  • Process group (real)
  • Application Name
  • Workload Manager TAG
  • Limitations may be imposed upon processes on a percentage basis
