PLM Configuration

  • PLM is a "policy" based tool and is configured by editing policies defined for managing and/or monitoring groups of LPAR's
  • Individual Policies are typically maintained for each managed server
  • LPAR's on a managed server are usually grouped within a policy
  • Groups normally consist of "shared" and "dedicated" reflecting the CPU assignments for each LPAR
  • The policy files may be edited by multiple methods:
  • Command line editing of policy files in "/etc/plm/policies"
  • WebSM
