High Availability

  • High Availability is defined here as an automated process between two or more frames within a single data center
  • Dual VIO servers on each frame
  • Provides redundant resources to each Client LPAR thus eliminating single points of failure for I/O devices
  • Multiple client LPARs
  • At least two (2) client LPARs on separate hardware frames are necessary to provide High Availability
  • Multiple Hardware Management Consoles (HMC) are desired
