**** IMPORTANT ****

The kshIndex.tar.gz file in this directory is an gzip'ed tar
archive created from the kshIndex implementation on the
machine at:  http://www.aigsupport.com/fancyIndex

The kshIndex system can be downloaded from the following URL:

http://www.aigsupport.com/fancyIndex/Tools/CGI/kshIndex/kshIndex.tar.gz


The kshIndex programs assume the following:

o You are running Apache 1.3.9 or greater.
o The installation directory of Apache is "/home/httpd".
o The cgi-bin directory is called "cgi-bin".
o The html documents directory is called "html".
o The full path of the "htpasswd" program is "/usr/local/apache/bin/htpasswd"



YOU MUST CHANGE DIRECTORIES TO "/home/httpd" before you
untar the kshIndex archive file called "kshIndex.tar"



Within kshIndex, the following assignments have been made:

o Several directory structures have been pre-built.

o The directory administrator's ID for all pre-built 
  directories is "admin".

o The directory administrator's password for all 
  pre-built directories is "password".



A REAL INSTALLATION AND DOCUMENTATION PACKAGE IS UNDER 
DEVELOPMENT, BUT FOR NOW THIS IS ALL THERE IS.

kshIndex 

kshIndex is a set of utilities and scripts built around the
Apache fancyIndex functions.  It allows webmasters to provide
a variety of functions to users.  Those functions include:

o Automated indexing of URL's, files, and directories
o Users may create their own directory structures
o Users may add/delete URL links
o Users may add/delete file descriptions
o Users can customize the look-and-feel of each directory they create
o Directory owners may password protect their directories
o Directory owners are able to manage user access to their directories
o Users may create their own online Events Calendar
o Users may create their own online Contact List
o Users may create their own online Address Book
o Users may create their own online Out-of-office list
o Users may create their own online reservation/scheduling system
o other functions coming soon!!!

kshIndex is built in Korn shell scripts and is portable to 
any Unix machine running Apache and Korn shell.
